How We Assess Eligibility

Eligibility is assessed based on a combination of financial thresholds and supporting evidence, including:

• Professional Clients (including elective professional clients)

• Retail Clients (including corporate and individual retail clients)

Your classification will depend on a combination of quantitative and qualitative factors, including:

Quantitative Considerations

• Value of your investment portfolio (typically a minimum of HKD 8,000,000)

• Total assets (for corporate entities, typically HKD 40,000,000 or above)

• Evidence of holdings, such as bank or custodian statements

Qualitative Considerations

• Ownership structure (for corporate clients)

• Source of wealth and origin of funds

• Professional and financial background

• Nature and purpose of the investment relationship

Information You May Be Asked to Provide

Depending on whether you are applying as an individual or corporate entity, you may be required to submit:

• Proof of identity and residential address

• Evidence of financial assets and portfolio holdings

• Corporate documentation (for entities), including ownership and control structure

• Trading experience and activity

• Source of wealth explanations and supporting documentation

• Investment records or agreements

• Professional background information (e.g. CV or LinkedIn profile)

All documentation must be certified by an appropriately authorised individual.

• Each application is reviewed in accordance with SFC requirements

• Client eligibility and classification are subject to final approval
